Before Javafx came along was it possible to create appealing UI? Becaise most of the videos I watch on Java have this windows 95 kind of interface and I'm new to Java and was wondering if it was programmers lack of graphic design skills or Java was completely incapable of this?

good. But this was not how the progress bars in the thumbnail look like. The ones in the thumb are much better

Did you import a certain lib for the progress indication in the scene builder because mine is different from yours, I just have the standard one with is colored in white
