Taiwan is part of China. One-China policy was first stated in the Shanghai Communiqué of 1972: "the United States acknowledges that Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. Only 1/3 of Taiwan's territory was once a Chinese colony and was ceded to Japan in the Treaty of Shimonoseki. After World War II, various colonies became independent one after another. However, the collusion between the US government and the Chinese Kuomintang (now renamed the Mainland Kuomintang) caused Taiwan and Penghu to be involved in the Chinese Civil War and were unable to establish their own countries.

China's colonial rule would destroy local culture and vigorously promote Chinese culture. This is how China has expanded its territory and maintained political stability since ancient times. The goal of China (either the Republic of China or the People's Republic of China) is to sinicize Taiwan.

If the United States does not send away the Chinese sent to Taiwan and Penghu, it will only be a matter of time before the People's Republic of China annexes Taiwan and Penghu.

Taiwan and Penghu are leftover issues from World War II. See Treaty of Peace with Japan.

At the time, the U.S. government helped the Chinese Nationalist Party (Republic of China), which had been defeated in the Chinese Civil War, escape to Taiwan, which was then a Japanese colony. Look at Formosa betrayed. Formosa is the original name of Taiwan.

After the Chinese Kuomintang came to Taiwan, it still maintained dictatorial rule, but moved towards democracy under pressure from the United States, and the Taiwanese entered the Republic of China to fight for their rights.

The Chinese who lost their privileges in Taiwan united with the People's Republic of China to steal Taiwan and Penghu.

What I heard few years back was that it was Tibet who asking India for assistance!! Phillipines has being messing countries around, even left museum pieces in Holland with more excesses, really not first time Hungarians lost interest in their waste of time. Now they too busy with AI investments, when Tibet had told them to prioritise and form an alliance. Tibet complained and died in process of DNA testing.
We heard not once of Phillipines nor Taiwan showing willingness to work together.

When in last 2 years has Taiwan discussed alternatives to china tensions.
Failed to release statements on Tibet relations or if India was going to give support that side.
Taken forever to finally have Phillipines deal, which spend more time on AI Microsoft investment than working on sovereignty or protecting interests of freedom for all around region.
Are authorities not liable to calm public during potential china attack, and assurance they persued every lead incase of USA only giving half support?

The Taiwan controversy was only a continuation of the Chinese Civil War (1946-1949). Most democracies sympathize with Taiwan simply out of values. I think if the U.S. military forces in the Asia-Pacific region are not directly involved in the war in Taiwan. Taiwan will be completely occupied by the PLA within a week. And the thinking of most Taiwanese is extremely naïve. They know almost nothing about military affairs. Because Taiwanese army is not at all an equal in magnitude opponent of the PLA. Taiwan is not Ukraine. Taiwan is an island. If the PLA begins to attack Taiwan, it will definitely set up a no-fly zone and a no-voyage zone. And dispatch all naval and air forces to guard the perimeter. This means that U.S and Japanese transport aircraft and transport ships cannot come close to the island. It is impossible to give Taiwan more weapons and equipment. And the area of Taiwan is less than 5% of Ukraine. And Taiwan does not have strategic depth. The war is also unlikely to drag on like Ukraine. China will only fight a quick victory. If the US military in the Asia-Pacific is involved War in Taiwan. Then all US military bases in Japan and South Korea, as well as in Southeast Asia, will be devastated. However, if Washington escalates further, the world will be on the brink of all-out nuclear war. Washington's actions in the light of the war in Ukraine. I do not think that the US military will be directly involved in the war in Taiwan. Because it's not sane and not cost-effective.
