The story was listed as a small criticism because of how Hades raised the bar, but I don't think it's really fair to compare it to Hades. I've been a fan of Supergiant for years, and the fact that even they could make a compelling story in a roguelike of all things is close to a miracle. Maybe in a couple years, we can start criticizing roguelikes based on story, but I think other developers need to figure out how to correctly implement it like Hades did before we can judge them on it.
