Meet our friend Maria. We've known Maria and her family for 18 years. When we heard about her accident (in which the driver was killed, and Maria is not expected to walk again), we were stunned, and we wanted to help in some small way.

You may remember Maddie, the sweet little 7 year old from our "We Are the World" video, who was struggling for her life in the advanced stages of cancer. Thousands of you prayed for her, and her cancer is now in remission! Call it coincidence or call it a miracle -- we believe your prayers and the massive number of cards and letters she received helped her through. We'd like to do the same for Maria. This gave me chills and I started crying. This reminds me of my friend who sang this at a talent show and afterwards shared that her sister is ignoring her and her family, cheating on her husband, and doing drugs. However, halfway through, the music stopped, but she kept singing. Don't any of you out there ever stop singing, even if the music ends halfway through the song.

I like what they are doing for Maria. I've had family that has died in car accidents (remember the one, in approximately 2010 in Michigan, where the car flipped seven times? It was on the news? Yes, that was my family) and that girl is lucky to be alive.

My sister and I had always listened to this song together. It was our favorite. 5 months ago, she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor on her pituitary gland. Soon after many treatments and therapy, her body still didn’t respond much to anything. The cancer eventually spread to her spine, lungs and the rest of her brain. She passed away in January of 2021. I can’t listen to this song with her anymore. It’s extremely difficult to without crying. I think of her every time I listen to our favorite songs. I love you sissy. You were the best big sister ever.
