Fun Fact: The song probably sounds okay because its the only part that ISN'T JoJo's creation! It's a really old song that was originally intended for Miley Cyrus but ultimately a demo was created with Brit Smith, and even though it was never released officially it's been uploaded to Youtube. I think part of the reason it sounds meh is because JoJo tried to modernize it and it ended up sounding like generic pop we hear nowadays, but the song was written for a late 2000s/early 2010s beat. The Brit Smith version sounds good and the music video is way better (because it has no demonic goth rock and roll entity emerging from the water and random humping), JoJo just corrupted it lol
