Fun fact for those who don't know, according to Paul Heyman on the ECW Exposed special in 2014, this match wasn't the original plan. He initially wanted to try and get what would've been a bigger match for sure if he'd managed to get it set up, that being Misawa vs Kobashi. If they'd have gotten that match on this show, there was no way anyone was following that because the matches those two had with each other in All Japan during the '90s were some of the best I've ever seen.

Man. I'm glad i got to see a lot of the ECW originals wrestle in ECW as a teen. I'll just never forget me and my friends flipping out over seeing Sabu appear after a lights out moment. I marked out. Also RIP Hayabusa. One of my favorite FMW and Japanese wrestlers ever.

Hayabusa was something VERY VERY special in his prime. Terrible tragedy what happened to him where he is now paralyzed. He botched a lionsault, a move he had done countless times before, slipping and landing hard on his neck. He cracked two vertebrae with that botch and was paralyzed instantly. It just goes to show you how dangerous even normal moves you perform all the time can be.
