Whoever named the AI upscaling PISSER is a madlad

For me the upscaling and boost graphics doesn't matter if I can't get a locked 60fps. And I have no desire to play old PlayStation games with slightly better graphics.

I think they didn't listen to customer when they complained about the PS4 pro and did the exact same thing. CPU&GPU work hand and hand to give you a good experience. If one is stronger than the other it just creates bottlenecks.

Lastly, we don't even need a mid gen refresh. Stop giving lazy developers a pass (not Sony devs they do the most). The only reason why games like FF7 and dragons dogma run like ass is cause developers don't optimize anymore. They try to make out the graphics then rely on frame gen, and upscaling instead of finishing the game. You shouldn't have to buy a new console or video card just to run a current game.

Devs used to come up with new techniques like texture baking to get better visuals while keeping good performance (gears of war). They don't give two shit now. Turn graphics to 11, ship with bugs and poor performance, complain about consoles or blame PC gamers rigs. Rise and repeat.

PS4 Pro was actually an improvement over the base model and was affordable af.

“A little bit” ain’t worth the upgrade. Even for enthusiasts. Let’s quit sugar coating the issue here.

And everyone is pretty much saying the same thing, not worth the price.

Biggest waste of money they could at least give it a disk drive for Christ's sake

This console makes sense for some people, but it’s far from the necessary mid-gen upgrade the PS4 Pro was. This isn’t a jump to 4K. 60fps at this point feels like it should have been standard for awhile so that not exactly an exciting bullet point for $700.

This console only really makes sense for content creators, tech enthusiasts, and people who plan on keeping a PS5 around well after the PS6 has launched (collectors who like keeping older platforms).

Funny how the so-called improvements are a little here and a little there. Though the price increase is a lot. LOL....

Even as a console enthusiast, at some point one has to wake up and think, "nah, I'm not getting that for the VERY minor updates and not worth the price tag."

Let's be realistic here. It's overpriced for what it is.

This may be the first time (in my experience) I’ve heard reviewers/gaming media mention the CMOS battery in any console review, or when talking a bout any console in general.. lol

If you are gaming on a 1080p LCD the $700 would be better spent on a 1440p OLED. The pixel response time of an OLED will make any frame-rate look 50% faster. Also we know there is no beating the black contrast of an OLED. Also the 1440p OLED's are 240Hz, so that is future proofing.

IGN 7/10 for PS5 Pro? 😂😂 Dustborn and Concord also received 7/10 🤔

The PS4 pro puts the PS5 pro to shame. At least the PS4 pro had a role to fill, it introduced 4K gaming (well usually through some checkerboarding) at a time when 4K TV adoption was on the rise. The PS4 pro also launched at the original price of the vanilla hardware and had a disc drive. The comparisons I’ve seen over the last few days between the PS5 pro and the vanilla are laughable and hardly worth $700. The PS5 pro is an insult and a clear sign of Sony’s current foolish hubris.

I'll just keep playing games on my PC Gaming Rig with an RTX 4090... Sony will continue to release their first party games on PC. They might not launch right away on PC but they will come eventually. I'm done with consoles.

Sucks you have to buy the disc drive and stand separatel smh

Mid gen refreshes are always a waste of money. The problem is they need to play that generation of games as if it's an original i.e. that same CPU.

That $700 price tag is insane. As an Xbox guy (who bought the XB1X when it released) if Xbox was releasing a mid gen console priced at $700 I wouldn't buy it, and even if I was willing to spend that much I'd be heavily leaning towards just building a PC.

30% more performance when not CPU bound, which will be often as it's running the same CPU as the base model, for 80% more money compared to the PS5 digital is absolutely abysmal. you're paying £300 for an upscaler essentially, if you buy this then you're sending a very dangerous message to Sony.

I personally hope it flops as hard as concord did and they realise that gaming at the moment with it's struggles doesn't need PC like pricing for half assed hardware.
