An unpredictable journey through time and space with a ragtag group of thieves and their newest recruit: an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin. Together, they set out on a thrilling quest to save the boy's parents, and the world.

As the main VFX partner for Time Bandits, DNEG delivered over 1000 shots across 42 sequences, spanning all 10 episodes of the comedy adventure series.

DNEG VFX team’s primary role on the show was tackling the intricate design and creation of a myriad of environments, from the historic settings of the Mayan village and Arctic Neanderthal settlements, to the enchanting landscapes of the Sky Citadel and the Fortress of Darkness. Each environment required a meticulous approach to detail, and needed to have its own look in order to differentiate the feel of each of the locations that the bandits land in during their journey through time.

DNEG team also delivered several complex CG characters and FX enhancements for key moments in the story including the Supreme Being – a giant, floating statue of three talking faces which emit light and smoke, Kevin’s magical bedroom transformation and adventurous slide through the kaleidoscope corridor, and Pure Evil’s dark yet beautiful magical effects, including the golden diorama orb.
