Judging by the text, Matthew seems to focus on Judas’ suicide by hanging. Luke’s focus is on the final state of Judas’ body.
Each Gospel writer’s account is consistent with their profession. As a tax collector, Matthew is interested in legal and financial details that are involved with Judas’ death. He’s the only gospel writer who talks about the 30 pieces of silver. Luke’s a physician. He gives us more of an autopsy report. What isn’t mentioned upon Judas hanging himself is 1. Did the branch or rope break or did someone cut him down sometime after he hung himself. 2. How long did he hang before falling to the ground? That matters because “between 3 and 7 days, ever-increasing pressure of the putrefying gases associated with colliquative changes in the soft tissues may lead to softening of the abnormal parities resulting in bursting open the abdomen and thorax.” ( The Textbook of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology). Falling headlong from the tree would explain how and why his intestines gushed out when he hit the ground and burst.
These accounts aren’t hopelessly contradictory. In fact, they complement each other quite nicely. Please reply if you have other Bible contradictions you’d like explained.

the bible says that Judas threw the money in the temple and went to hang himself. The priests took the money and said that they should not put it in the treasury of the temple because it is the price of blood. and they went to buy the "potter's land" which is also called the land of blood.
So this is what Peter means when he says that Judas acquired a land that is also called the land of blood.

Concerning how Judas died, here is a simple reconciliation of the facts: Judas hanged himself in the potter’s field (Matthew 27:5), and that is how he died. Then, after his body had begun to decay and bloat, the rope broke, or the branch of the tree he was using broke, and his body fell, bursting open on the land of the potter’s field (Acts 1:18–19). Note that Luke does not say that Judas died from the fall, only that his body fell. The Acts passage presumes Judas’s hanging, as a man falling down in a field does not normally result in his body bursting open. Only decomposition and a fall from a height could cause a body to burst open. So Matthew mentions the actual cause of death, and Luke focuses more on the horror surrounding it.
