I just stumbled upon your site and this post. I have friends who live in Ludwigsahfen. They live on land filled-in there after the war....it's an island. Beautiful houses, buildings and there's a lovely park that I've walked to from there house. I've skipped stones on the river. The only thing I didn't like about the park (when I first visited Ludwigshafen in 1993) were the cigarette vending machines...cigarettes, tobacco cause cancer. I did go for a dip in the river too. I almost went naturist but as I was a guest in your city I didn't quite feel it proper without a city dweller to be with me. I saw Mannheim from L.amR. side of river. People were very friendly all around. It does need some beautification, trees, shrubs etc. I'd like to go back someday. My friend, the husband, died suddenly several years ago but the wife and their grown son are still there. Thank you again for this post. Mark from Massachusetts

Doesn't look ugly at all, maybe a bit outdated; "the ugliest city" is definitely an exaggeration. I like your German accent :)).

I don't think is ugly. Is different from other cities/towns in Germany but definitely not he ugliest city in Germany. Besides that is very close to Stuttgart..

This video is a disappointment. You never showed the underpasses for witch Ludwigshafen is famous for.

The Mainstation and the City Hall are the most horrible bouildings next to the elevated roads and you missed it so hard.
