I was having this conversation with my mom. I don't know how people feel comfortable going on vacations, buying new cars, etc. When you owe people money. Even Jesus said to give to Caesar what is Caesar. Sallie Mae or whoever you owe is Caesar.

The thing is these people will do “THEIR version” of the baby steps plan. Then when it fails they will blame you, not themselves. They will run around telling others that they tried “YOUR plan” and it didn’t work!

My husband and I have been listening to Dave since we were 25 and 23 years old. We built our house 14 years ago and we have followed his baby steps and can now pay our house of next month. We are 43 and 41 now and will be 100% debt free including our house. Listen to him....start as young as you can staying out of debt, saving for rainy day, and investing wisely.

I think when people first discover Dave and how smart and knowledgeable he is instead of learning the baby steps and going through FAQ they want to call him directly and ask him even though it's already been asked hundreds of times. Because people just want to get there answer without doing any work or research for themselves.
