I just replaced mine last week. When I chatted on Bissel customer support they wrongly told me it was an unfixable issue and offered me a 20% discount on a new machine. The part cost $12 from Amazon and took me 10 minutes to replace. I learned from other YouTube posts that using Hot vs warm water can lead to the part failure. Wow, you were way ahead on this fix I’d say you had to be the first which means you were the trailblazer figuring out how to take apart the machine. YouTube shows I’d watched this and I do remember you now. I’m sorry I didn’t leave a comment and thanks to you! My only excuse was my wife’s deadline to get the room cleaned and I think I was flying through whatever I could find from wherever to figure out what I was going to do do quickly resolve the problem enough to keep-on cleaning. Kevin- I actually created an account so I could log in and thank you! My Bissell had this issue. Came across your tutorial and ordered a $13 replacement from Amazon. Replaced it myself and good as new! I only had my Bissell for a year but it is a great machine and was happy to fix it for minimal cost and effort. Again, thanks for your very helpful video!

Love it easy as heck to repair ... Vacuum repair shop in town wanted 50$ to fix flow indicator little did he know I was taking a shot at it first

super helpful...thank you! I have exactly the same problem. And will see where I can order the part. I forgot the screws in the back and couldn't understand why the hood wasn't coming off....now I do. That will save me hundreds of dollars replacing the machine.
