I graduated 3 weeks ago. Got emotional when my mom tapped me out.

2013 when I got tapped by my then future wife. Preceded to do an impromptu March with my flight to the MTI statue where I peeled off to ask her to marry me. Garnered more attention than I first thought it would as other families followed thinking it was all a part of the ceremony. Felt amazing when everyone came together the way they did for me.

I haven’t had exodus. I haven’t had a public graduation, or time off in between. I haven’t been able to leave base during tech school. I haven’t been able to have family or loved ones on base. This does make it harder, but it teaches me a lot. A lot about sacrifice, honor, integrity, and what it’s like to make the hard choices. I know some to six masculine men will say “it’s not a big deal so you don’t see your loved ones for a year. Really? Y’all are that blind and ego driven to not understand that we still can feel what we feel and do our duty ?
