I guess this fight confirms that those who become the lord of frenzied flame literally lose their heads.

I like it when the boss in the middle of the fight said:

Midra's Spinal Cord Sword

the fact that this dude isnt evenconsidered strong enough to be the real lord of frenzy means we the tarnished as the lord of frenzied flame would be terrifying

comments don't seem to realise this isn't how strong the lord of frenzy flame is, his soul items state that he was an unworthy vessel, like he did not harness it properly
he is an imperfect specimen, id assume like.. what an erdtree avatar is to the elden beast

You can hear the merchants of violin in his theme. then when he goes into his second phase you can hear the more insane version of the merchants violin when you get lower nearer to the frenzied Flame

Damn, the guy must be in pain to have that thing embedded in his body. He must have felt both satisfaction and pain as he pulled it out.

Fun fact: The voice actor for Midra, is the same one that voiced Father Gascoigne in Bloodborne.

Felt like an oaf it took me until seeing his bright yellow drape for it to click "Oh frenzy is bright yellow because it's a continuation of the King in Yellow motif they've been doing since Old Monk"

Bro went from being a simple surprise enemy to a full on boss

So the lore on this guy is that he was about to become Lord of Frenzied Flame, to which of course his maiden said "fuck no" so instead he vowed to endure agony for eternity, until one day some dumbass tarnished came into his house, decided to kick his sorry ass, and then he finally said "no more, that's where I draw the line". Absolutely epic.

I love how when Midra is in his mortal form, he is hunched, rigid, with jolting movements and an anguished voice filled with pain. But when he lets the Lord of Frenzied Flame finally inhabit his body, he suddenly becomes so graceful, with this regal air about him and beautifully destructive power. He never utters another word. It's such a cool contrast, showing how the man was burned away, and all that remains is a puppet to be controlled.

From the trailers I would have never expected this guy to be a lord of Frenzy, the reveal was so hype

I love how Midra and the Lord of Frenzy Flame tarnished move in a slow, almost graceful manner which heavily contrasts the frenzied, manic movement of other enemies afflicted with the flame of frenzy. It just shows that they don’t suffer from the effects of frenzy, they actively embrace it.
