The wrist is rotating, just not in relation to the forearm. Instead, she is rotating her forearm. But in relation to any else, the wrist orientation or rotation does change.

completely flipping your hand is a movement of your entire arm. your wrist only allows you to move your hand up and down (like in a flapping motion). twisting your hand is actually a movement of the forearm and to fully flip it over you have to rotate your upper arm.

For anybody thinking that you can actually rotate your wrist, hold your arm out palm up (like she does at the beginning). Now take your other hand and place it palm up under the forearm, close to your wrist, and grab. Now try rotating your wrist.

The wrist is a condyloid joint, it allows tilting in two degrees of freedom, but does not allow rotation. The elbow is a hinge joint, it only allows tilting in one degree of fredom.

When we "rotate the wrist", what were actually doing is rotating the entire forearm using the distal and proximal radioulnar joints (the joints that connects our radius to our ulna). In the video, this motion happens partly when she tilts the forearm from a vertical position to a horizontal position, and partly when she extends the forearm to point forwards.

The wrist is only capable of two axes of rotation.

To understand this, hold the bones in your forearm (the radius and ulna) in place with your other hand. You’ll notice that you cannot rotate your wrist in a third axis. This is because motions like flipping your hand over are actually performed by rotating the forearm, not the wrist.

Therefore, to complete the task of flipping your hand without rotating your wrist simply rotate your forearm.

And for those who argue that the wrist is still undergoing a rotation due to the forearm; Yes, the wrist does experience a rotation as a result of the forearm. However, this rotation isn’t initiated by the wrist itself. Likewise, the action performed in this video causes the wrist to rotate, but only because of the movement in the forearm—not because the wrist is actively rotating on its own.
