We have authority over the devil and his lies that try to tell us we aren’t forgiven and that when we die we won’t be accepted by Jesus. God forgives any of our sins and calls us to repent and follow Him. He wants us to have faith in what He did on the cross and He gives us underserved salvation as a free gift because He loves us so much. We don’t have to earn it and glory be to God for what a beautiful thing He’s done. The devil can’t touch us and can’t take away what Jesus did for us on the cross. We have victory all thanks to God.

It seems I read something or was taught that when Jesus died on the cross the three days until he rose, he spent in hell crushing Satan?

Maybe an inspiring theologian can answer this for me. In Matthew, Peter tries to stop Jesus when He says he will be killed and raised on the third day, to which Jesus replies, "get thee behind me Satan". How then is it that the crucifixion still takes place when Jesus acknowledges the unseen influence on Peter thus Satan's subsequent knowledge of His plan of resurrection?
Does anyone know of somewhere I can ask this question directly to Pastor John?

the spirit of deceit can only have power over you if you haven't received this Spirit of Truth!!!! the deceiver used the law and your sin to convince you to try harder to earn Gods love. Religion is the number one tool in satans bag, Christ, on The Cross, took that tool away. Default to Grace, Run from Religion to The That's The Gospel, accept that you were already accepted !!!!

VERY interesting title kind Sir...

Sadly I believe the devil was not disarmed on the "cross". Even though I realize that 90% of the Christians; believe that "hook, line and sinker". They may be right. But I do not believe it. But who am? Nothing but one more...

Isaiah 64:6 We are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

So, I know, I know, that "disarming" is what the bible "seems" to say. But I believe satan caused that erroneous thesis to "trick" us into security. For the satan's power (2nd ONLY to Jesus' Power); has NOT stopped "tempting us to sin" one iota! Thus, IF he was "disarmed"; NO one would ever have sinned; from the moment Jesus died on the cross to the "END".

Could I be wrong? ABSOLUTELY YES! But all others could be wrong too!

The narratives of Colossians 2 was a projection of what could be and will be in the “fullness of time”. Your approach towards its interpretation, prematurely, have been largely influenced by traditions and man’s philosophy.

Col 2:8 Beware lest anyone rob you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ.

Christ was narrated as an “image of god”, whose true form is yet to be known therefore you know him, through vain deceit, as an idol.

Col 2:9 For in Him dwells all the FULLNESS of the Godhead BODILY.
Col 2:10 And you are complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and power,

The Godhead is your “parliament”. But how could you see that coming? You couldn’t because of idolatry. An “idol” can’t(forbidden) occupy the “Godhead” because it is against the commandments.

Which means to say you do not know “Christ”. You know him as an idol. If so, how could you have “disarmed” rulers and principalities? Instead, you indulged in “spirit entities” in your fertile imaginations.

Col 2:15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.


Rulers are still very much “armed”, and at war. They are far from being “disarmed” as the world is currently faced with an emerging war. There will be no end to wars till you rally behind “the truth”.

Paul was not given the full revelation before the “fullness of time”. The book(prophetically inspired) has been sealed till the…end.
