Kidney Transplant: A Story of Life

Sometimes "Thank you" doesn't seem like enough.
For the recipients of kidney donations made as part of the longest single center #kidneytransplant chain currently in the United States, the selfless giving acts are life-saving and life-changing.

"This person doesn't know me, this person doesn't know my family, yet he gives the biggest sacrifice - an organ - to a person that he doesn't know. It really changed my life, dramatically," says kidney recipient Troy Dorch.

Saint Barnabas Medical Center recently held a celebration for the donors and recipients, their loved ones and the clinicians and supporters who have come together to save lives. "THANK YOU!" for entrusting us with your care, for sharing your amazing journeys and for the resonating impact that you have made.

Really touched by that last comment, on how being a living donor makes his life feel more complete.

Hello,
I don't know if you can help me, but I hope so.
I am from Bulgaria and I do not find enough experts here for my question. I have had a kidney transplant for about a year and a half. My question is whether the ingredients in the cosmetics we use every day can harm us. I am forbidden to take green tea, pomegranate, St. John's wort, grapefruit, vitamins. But the main question is whether I can use them for local external application, they are still excellent anti-aging ingredients. This also applies to retinol and various acids and vitamins A, E, C, peptides and plant extracts and essential oils.
At what level are the various cosmetic products for the face absorbed in the skin - the epidermis or the dermis. When they enter the dermis, do they also enter the bloodstream in this way?
In this way, can they interact with the immunosuppressants we take? We should not expose ourselves too much to the sun, and use sunscreen with a high SPF, and at the same time they contain dangerous ingredients such as otocrylene, avobenzone, etc. And what filters are appropriate to use - physical, chemical or mineral?
Thanks and stay healthy! And happy holidays!
