I don't know about you but I always study more effectively when I have friends (virtual or in-person!) studying with me. To study in real-time alongside other PhD pals, or other students from around the world is such a privilege, so thank you for being with us today.

Study with me as I work on my research for a PhD in Musicology. I'm a student at All Hallows College, DCU (Ireland) but I'm currently in Manhattan, NY. My research is a historical and analytical enquiry into archival records of children's musical culture in Ireland.

How old are you?
I'm 31 in theory, but thanks to cancer/the pandemic putting life on hold for a couple of years, I genuinely only feel about... 26?!

I'm Irish, and a PhD student at an Irish university but I am currently in MANHATTAN, BABY!!!!!

What type of cancer are you getting treatment for?
Stage IV oesophageal adenocarcinoma

What drug are you on?
An immunotherapy drug called Nivolumab (Opdivo)
