My puppy chewd mine up and i bought another from the circuit city store years ago.
But it does the same thing now

I had to replace the original cord. But now the R8 sometimes turns on and sometimes does not turn on. It seems like the jack is the problem

Your heading for trouble, chum! Mine's has broken twice internally on that tiny usb socket. Fortunately I have had it resoldered, which is almost impossible due to the micro-size in there. Now I have it securely supported so that no strain can occur across the flimsy socket.

Nothing wrong with mine, it just doesn't short out like that, sorry that your r8 is bumming out like that🥺

Has to be a special cord. Had the same issue
