I really enjoyed watching this even though we don't use this math curriculum. You mentioned that after using this curriculum your kids have a DEEP understanding of math. I think that is the problem with so many math curriculums out there....they are so focused on teaching the process of solving problems that they lack teaching children in a way where they truly understand the math! I realized this with my own children and switched them to Math U See. I think MUS and MWC are very strong in teaching concepts in ways the kids can truly understand the math and not just memorize a meaningless process that they then go on to forget because it means nothing to them! MUS has just been way easier to implement in my homeschool than MWC was, but if not for MUS I would definitely find a way to make MWC work for us so my kids can truly understand math!

The teachers guide was massive with level 3!!! I was told to read the 1st pages of curriculum and It’s helped me with MWC and other curriculums!!! I find it varies with my kids when they get the manipulatives out once they have the concept!!! I love that it’s paced Andy my kids pace and I didn’t know level 4 is as well!!! I do the memory work outside of the lessons!!! I didn’t know to break it down!!!

We used K and 1st and have switched to another program but my DS really misses MWC 🙈.

I agree with everything you shared. This curriculum has given my children a deep conceptual sense of math concepts. The games have been so fun to play, my kids love them. They have made our relationships closer, truly. Grade 4 is currently in the mail for us and I cannot wait to see it in person. Thanks for the flip through, Christine!

Maybe a little early but do you have any ideas on what you’ll move to after 6th? I think that’s when she plans to stop. We’re using MWC and start 1st this year but I’m worried about having to switch after MWC ends and learning a new curriculum.

Do you know if she would ever do teaching videos as a supplement to go along with the lessons?
