Teen Idle (Lady Jane Grey animatic (Six the Kids))

Woo! Look at me churning out all this shit! It's so much fun! Admittedly this is one of the sadder ones because Lady Jane Grey is honestly one of most tragic figures in history. Queen fo Nine days arranged by her father-in-law in order for his family to have more power. Her whole marriage was arranged so that they could be Edward's heirs. Mary I saw that Jane had been a puppet and was willing to spare her but then her dad fucked it up by holding uprising against Mary's new rule and future husband. Jane was just 15 when she executed.

The next animatic will be Mary Queen of Scots (or Mezza Scots to help stop confusion) and i will be using Part of Me by Katy Perry. I'm really looking forward to making this animatic because i've had an idea lined up for this for ages now!

The sad part of of Lady Jane Grey life that she didn’t have real friends, her parents were rumored to abuse her and her sister because they were girls, and was married off from a young age. She was tricked all of her life and she didn’t really what to become queen but her uncle made it happened, she was only a poor child that was used as a political pawn. The only person she got along with when she was younger and Edward and Elizabeth, but they were mad at her mostly Mary for Edward changing the succession only because Mary was a catholic, you could also see the pain in Mary shes was trick into beheaded Jane, yet also scared.

I feel bad for Jane. She was put in such a bad position and then she was left to die. I believe that she would have been an amazing queen but she never had the chance. But I get why Mary had to kill her. To her it was more important to marry and have a child. I dont believe Mary really hated her, but they had different beliefs.

I have no idea why, but it was absolutely chilling to realize that they blindfolded at least her for her execution. The idea of never knowing when the blade was coming down is horrifying to me, that it could be a few minutes to an hour or however long they choose to wait and you would have to be patient and think of every single second as your last.

the queen for 9 days is such a sad and short lived life to a beautiful girl who was used. poor girl, the scene where she was blindfolded, and forced to lower her head, god that would've been the point in her life where she felt so scared and honestly used. all her moments of life felt really and utterly sad, only having such small happy memories, hope she is happier in a place where no one is hurt

I love how you captured the multiple sides of Jane and her reign. Though she was very much so a controlled puppet, run by her parents and the dukes, she had her own strength. I like the Day 3 mirror scene when she seems a little haughty and proud because, though she was pushed to accept this role, she wasn't passive in it. She refused to make her husband king, angering the gentry, signed letters and papers as Queen Jane, and even when she was locked up, uncertain of her fate, she continued to write letters, some quite scathing, defending her faith and refusing to back down. She was more than just a tool, which was unfortunately her downfall. It has hard to not argue treason when she signed her name as Queen, when she refused to convert or even stop speaking so loudly against the Catholic Church. Whether this was bold or brash, one can argue. Many people would've done what they could to in the name of self-preservation and been justified, but she was willing to pay the price. She truly believed that she had been chosen for such a time as this and wouldn't back down. Such a sad story for such a young and talented girl.

I don’t know Lady Jane Grey’s story personally, but it’s heartbreaking to see parents viewing their children as political pawns for the price of power. Imagine being in her position, and having not much a choice. I can’t imagine if we still have those type of rules today.

Janes queenspiration is Marina and the Diamonds. Marina has a very ‘wtf being teen sucks’ vibe and that is just Janes life story
Jane isn’t a daughter of any of the queens. She is Mary (Aragon’s), Elizabeth (Boleyn’s) and Edward’s (Seymour’s) cousin through Henry VIII’s younger sister Mary Tudor. (Only three of the queens had children with Henry)
