i think the only wrong move fernando took was moving to mclaren in 2015, that literally wasted his prime years

He's only 8 points away from 5 world championships, that's as much luck and circumstance as it is personal choices.

alonso isnt angry, alonso is motivated. He still has that drive to fight for another championship.

Fernando did the best anyone could do at Ferrari, he wringed that team and the cars they gave him for all he could.
Against the force that was Redbull and Seb in that era, nothing could be done.

When you look at the current era of Max and Redbull you realise this is what 2010-2013 would have looked like without Fernando.

The fact that he's come so close so many times is why he's a legend, not Two World Titles.

Alonso to my eyez is the most talented driver of the last 20 years

2010-2013 it could only be RB, later on Mercedes. You can not blame him. He wasn’t making moves like footballers going to Saudi Arabia. He was bullied out and not supported at McLaren, he went to Ferrari at first opportunity. Tell me one driver in his shoes who would chose RB over Ferrari in 2009. In many occasions being a first Ferrari driver means much more than being a wild champion in a supreme car for teams like Brawn or RB, with no disrespect to those teams.

Jordan accusing people of chasing money literally, that's rich.

That's nonsense. Mclaren should have been his 3rd, then possibly his 4th World titles. And moving to ferrari at that time wasn't a bad move as everyone expected them to be fighting for wins (which they were). He got unlucky with timing, but he wasn't "chasing money over titles"

I think his move to ferrari was a good one. He came so close twice with them!

You could argue that he just went to front running teams at the wrong time or for whatever reason, it just didn't work out. His 1st stint at McLaren comes to mind and his Ferrari stint. They were frontrunners...

That's a ridiculous take tbh. He turned down red bull for 2008, who offered him megastar money, to sign for Ferrari, who had just won the title in 2007 and challenged again in 2008. He also nearly won the titles in 2007, 2010 and 2012. Like 12 points between him and 3 titles.

If he'd gone to Sauber for a big pay rise then yeah... signing from Renault to Mclaren and Ferrari is not evidence of no ambition. Renault, the team he left, won like 4 races in that time...

To be fair he did jump ships to teams that were fighting for championships, so it wasn't just money.

Well, Ferrari never gave him a car that was good enough for a championship (he was good enough to fight-check teammates results) and McLaren had a long term plan to be on top but failed ..i don't think he had a better option at the time

He's said publicly that he fears for his legacy. He is easily one of the best drivers of all time, but his stats don't show it (Which is what the history books show). He knows he's better than Hamilton, and Lewis has 7 WDCs. He nearly won the Indy 500 on his first attempt, LeMans winner (x2), 24hrs of Daytona, 13th in the Dakar (Which is insane for anyone's first time in a discipline they've never competed in before.). Anything with an engine and a steering wheel, and he can win in it... but his stats only show 2 WDCs. He needs Sergio's RB seat in 2025 for one last go in a championship winning car. If he can beat Max (Who looks unbeatable) in the RB, Fernando might only have 3 WDCs, but everyone will know he beat the best of the best.

*So glad I subscribed to this channel the other day, in just 30 or 60 seconds I'm learning more about F1 politics or just listening to priceless insider gossip like this than I would in hours of of other YT F1 content.*

i dont see how fernando chased the money tbh all throughout his career you could see how he wanted to win more than anything, and he chose those teams thinking they would deliver but they didn’t, not a single one after mclaren 2007 🤷🏻‍♀️

Love to see Fernando and Max as team mates and see who comes out in front, I'll bet it would be Fernando.
