I went and changed out my breaker switch, then it would still not flip on. You saved my butt bc it was a screw, touching the side of on of my boxes, thank you for the great video

This video was very helpful. I replaced a breaker but that wasn't the problem. After watching your video I changed the socket where i had an electric chain saw plugged in and everything was fixed. Just like you said, wires were moved because that's where I plug in my electric weed wackers too. Pulling on that socket over the years and it was and old socket .

Awesome video. I’m a new handyman on some apartments complex for 2 years. I got a called last night Tennants says smells like burning and only half of the house has power. Many outlets wasn’t working. The breaker was tripped . I put the breaker back to on and tripped right away. I couldn’t find was outlet was tripping the breaker. So I had to called a experienced electrician

In our country we no longer use metal mounting brackets to install wall sockets. You can find them in very old installations (about 60 years or more). It is nowadays expressly forbidden. Electricians use in-the-wall-brackets and boxes made from a fire-retardant and heat resistant plastic material. It is for those exact reasons you just mentioned.

Thanks for this video. I was able to fix the simple issue where an electrician would have charged fortune.

Thank you this is so good for homeowners who want to be conscious of their Houses inner workings. Would these scenarios change if the breaker only trips when I unplug my microwave? As long as I keep the microwave plugged in it’s fine it’s the darndest thing.

Here’s my situation. I built an addition. Everything including the electric was inspected and passed.
I have four outlets on the circuit. If I use the first outlet I’m fine. But when I use the vacuum cleaner on any circuit gouging away from the breaker it trips.
I’m going to be pulling the outlets this week and then try the vacuum. If it doesn’t trip then I know I’m touching something in the box. It only goes when a load on put on.
I was told it could be a bad breaker in the panel or a screw is touching it.
But when it’s left alone the breaker doesn’t trip.
Suggestions?
