It's strange and honestly I am not a religious person...But In Hinduism, you have this idea of the cycle of life ...and trust me they talk about eons and eons of years in one cycle - I am talking billions of years - and it talks about the process of collapse and expansion and re-evolution of the entire Universe. Not just humanity ... The entire universe - those theories and teaching sometimes overlap so much with what we know today from science.
