it’s insane how jade and leigh anne can talk about their struggles with racism, and jesy nelson thinks it’s still cute to blackfish… these girls deserve so much love and respect

The things Jade was saying about her childhood, broke my heart.

The way jade downplayed it but you know it affected her loads.

Jade used to get pinned in the bathroom, and they would throw bleach powder on her?! What is wrong with people?? I’m so glad she is speaking up because nobody deserves to go through what these women have!

You can hear the pain in the voices. They both deserve the world for what they have both been through.

so iconic. sisterhood is so strong. and knowing someone who goes through the same racial struggles as you is a very underrated but important. I wish perrie was included to share her views but I loved this documentary. very inspiring. Leigh anne is so incredible honestly xx

I always suspected Jade was dealing with some of that. Glad she feels more open to talk about and explore her racial heritage and the hardships she faced because of it.

I don't know how people see Jade as white passing. She has never looked white at all.

Poor jade is right in the Northeast in the 90s and before there was a lot of racism in football, actually still in the northeast there is a problem with racism in schools. Jade and Leigh are beautiful.

I absolutely love they’re speaking about this! As a black woman I have always dealt with being judged and made fun of because of my skin, especially as a dark skinned women it was so hard and difficult. But realizing colorism isn’t in each race all over and I’m glad it’s being talked about

My heart melted on their embrace and you could see shaking a little with crying emotions and Jade gave her an extra squeeze. Wow.

Such a beautiful yet heart breaking conversation.

I am Lebanese and this touches my heart to hear Jade speak so proudly about her heritage. Leigh, I cannot think about what she has faced and I really care so much for her. Love these girls.

That awkward moment when Jesy, a white woman, is darker than Jade 😂

It genuinely took me years before I realized Jade wasn't white. I thought she was just a bit tanner than the other girls, then at one point she made a comment about her "asian hair" (because it was so long and thick) and I had to go "wait what?" And I looked it up and didn't even know what Yemon meant at the time. Jade really was my first exposure to someone of her race. And I think especially with Kpop pushing this narrative that Asian is these super white thin perfect people and only them has caused so much harm for Asians of darker skin. It's so upsetting and I'm glad Leigh talked about this as well.

And on the same token, Leigh was the first black girl that I looked up too. Again, not many in my area and I just never ended up in the same class with them or near one or sharing interests with anyone with darker skin. Which I guess the odds are in favor for that when the ratio of black people at my school to white was so low. But both Leigh and Jade being my role models and basically big sisters is how I knew those kids were just like everybody else. Just as capable just as valid. Just looked different. It really makes me so upset the things they've had to go through, but I'm so happy they're speaking out now and that Leigh made this beautiful documentary. So proud of you Leigh <3

This was such an intelligent yet low key conversation. So real and raw. I love these girls and I don’t even know much of their music.
