A very similar thing happened to me in real life I came out as non-binary to my family and my father started yelling at me and tried to hit me my mother kicked him out and said you can't come back until you fix your behavior but it didn't really have a very good ending because he came back and he's been pretending that he accepts me but behind my mother's back he's been being horribly mean to me.

To the parents out there (I know it's been said but I wanna say it too ÙvÚ) please support your child no matter what they come out as. It will bring you so much closer to them and will make your child happy. They will likely trust you with more aswell so please. Put your own desires or beliefs aside for the sake of you and your child's relationship

For all the people saying ITS NOT GAY ITS LESBIAN gay can also be described as homosexual (liking your own gender) for both girls and boys, but its just widely used for boys. She/he/they might also be portraying the character as non-binary so you don't know.

It's the opposite for me, I came out as bi but I like girls more than boys to my parents and my mom said "you will have a boyfriend not a girlfriend! I will not accept it" and I was crying for hours in my room, not because of what she said to me, but because when my brother came out as gay she supported him, and it really hurt me that she supported my brother and not me

People are very lucky to have supporting parents who ok with you LGBTQ2S+ and always remember everyone is beautiful or handsome just the way you are and it is hard to come out for the first time I know because I am bi and non-bianary
