2023 was one of the most exciting years for space exploration. More people were in space at the same time than ever before. The number of space tourism flights also took off, and India became the fourth country to successfully soft-land on the moon – that's to name just a few highlights. 2024 is set to be just as exciting.

I am really surprised by the way this news channel neglected the future mission of India's ISRO

The JWST is easily the most interesting part of space exploration last year, likely this year, and many more years to come. Going back to the moon is cool and all, but from a scientific standpoint the amount of information we've learned from the JWST is absolutely cosmic.

Remembered Nepal, forgot India. Guess there's only so much room in there!

The mission being mentioned carrying a piece of Mt Everest is a payload from Nepal Robotics Project on the Peregrine luna lander. I hope that helps.

Some corrections: Artemis II everyone expects to slip to 2025, JAXA's Martian Moons eXploration mission also isn't likely to launch before 2026.

'India eyes 12 space missions in 12 months to build on historic year.

NEW DELHI -- India's space agency is fired up for a busy slate of missions in 2024, after reaching a string of milestones last year including a historic moon landing.

The lineup is set to include preparations for a three-day mission dubbed Gaganyaan, which would mark India's first crewed space flight, putting three astronauts into orbit 400 kilometers above Earth. India intends to launch an uncrewed test flight this year before Gaganyaan's main event, likely in 2025.

India already launched a satellite on New Year's Day to investigate the mysteries of cosmic X-rays. Other plans include a test flight with a humanoid robot named Vyomitra, along with a sequel to India's successful Mars orbiter mission in 2013-2014, to study the surface, atmosphere and climatic conditions of the red planet. A Venus orbiter mission is in the works as
