Linda L. Fagan Becomes First Woman Commandant

Adm. Linda L. Fagan made U.S. military history on Wednesday by becoming the first woman officer to lead any branch of the American armed forces. She took over as Commandant of the Coast Guard on June 1, in a ceremony attended by President Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Now why would Joe Bidens “we NEED to see more women in the armed forces” draw applause like that? What if women choose NOT to join, is that ok? If women voluntarily choose not to go in is that the type of thing that goes down as an inequality in society?
