another easy way to boost leveling is to get a sickle, grab a lot of material to craft bandages, craft them. While they craft you can do whatever. Once they finished you can destroy them (you get half of the materials back), farm a little more and do it again.

I feel that felling trees (sometimes chopping them fully) while grabbing fiber in between trees and crafting/deconstructing bandages is really efficient. I still do it occasionally if i'm really close to a level and don't want to head off and die somewhere.

komodo spot works like a charm. I make durability 4 dagger and they broke after 2-3 kills. 1400-2200xp per kill.

dude i'm at 11 hours now got lvl 15 xD
i mean i did not power lvl just enjoyed open world and then realized i kinda have to do the missions for the cool stuff (aka at least a backpack for more inv space...)
