I'm an artist, clown and balloon twister. I will be adding face painting as part of my birthday 🎂 party offerings!
Your videos are very well made with a straight forward approach. I appreciate your honesty and value your options as it pertains to getting started. Most shops would recommend unnecessary products to beginner artist, just to make a buck!

I’m a newbie so I went for something cheap with good reviews… ended up buying a brand called Kraze and it’s super pigmented and has worked well for me so far just practicing on my kids :) I can’t wait to start getting name brands like these tho, now that I know I absolutely love face painting!

your videos are very helpful and useful to me. I did a pirate event last weekend and I'm not a professional facepainter so I was very happy and surprised at the compliments I received for my work that I did and also with my tips I received and the happy little faces after I completed my work. I was asked to come back to another event next weekend which I will be happy to do. I will continue to watch your videos thank you so much.

Thanks for another great tutorial Sophie. I did actually get carried away when I started & would probably need a small truck for my supplies. I've now streamlined everything & it's so much better & less confusing.

You are such a very good communicator. Very efficient, with so much info in the amount of time allotted. I take notes on paper so I don't have to watch the video over and over, and I have to click pause after every sentence to write something down. What are the two words you say at 1:33 when you move on to the black paint? It sounds like 'press patters' but that can't be right. I'm new to this and just found your channel today. I can already tell that you are very thorough which is what I like. Not everyone with a channel can do this. For example, to me, 'pearl' always meant a particular color, an off-white like a pearl. Another artist on youtube likes to use terms without first defining them and I hate that. They assume you already know this. So when they said 'pearl' when holding up a paint that wasn't a pearl color, I didn't understand. Now I get it. Also, it's helpful to know in advance of shopping for paint that some manufacturers call it shimmer, or metallic. Avoids confusion later. There's no standardization in the industry. So your explanations are helping understand OTHER people better. Thanks. P.S. How can you possibly have time to respond to every comment? As of now, there are 338 of them. That takes hours and hours.

i have been doing face painting as a hobby for events in my town since i was 18, for years i didn't own my material as the school association was lending me the wonderful pro kit they had bought for me and others to use at those events (theater and dance show, national day, school fair etc).
Now though i had to buy my own to do some charity work, so i got a palette with gold, silver, turquoise, pink, coral, brown, yellow, red, blue and some kaki green, along with black and white, i first also bought a "clown white" bottle that ended up being a disapointment as it wasn't opaque at all and hard to blend.
Now i bought better quality cakes in white, black, purple, a greenish blue color that is hard to mix myself, a dark green, a dark red and they were on a buy 3 pay for 2 deal. i already had some loose cosmetic grade glitters and i recently bought some gel glitter gels from snazaroo in gold, silver, diamond and multicolor so i think i'm all set for the next event this sunday!
i just want to go and buy some aloe vera and glycerin to turn my loose glitter into gel as i hate having them fly around as soon as i open the jars.
I also own a lot of "regular" makeup like eyeshadows and such and plan on using them as well^^
