What we should be complaining about was how hyori took half the episode talking about her dad😭

This might be the only fight were the manga was limiting in what Oda wanted to show, and it's true energy could only come with bonkers, non-sensical and looney toon-esque animation.

I loved it. Not always being able to understand what was on screen gave it so much life for me. Like Luffy simply does not care about what anyone has to say or sees when he fights. He just does.

This was awesome. The drums. The sense of hope. The animation. I think this episode will age so well. Yeah Hiyori’s part was a bit of a pace breaker but it’s part of the story and it’s nearly over. Fans are gonna love the upcoming episodes as well!

honestly my only problem is that they built more hype around 1071, rather than 1072, they shouldve built more hype around 1072, because 1072 showcases the extent of gear 5's power, and 1071 focuses on the lore of Human-Human Fruit model: Nika, and the pride of the Kozuki clan.

My main issue with Gear 5th is the whole mythical zoan reveal. I liked it better when it was Luffy that made the fruit special, not vice versa.

You could still have Luffy's awakening be free cartoony stretching and rubber-fying his surroundings and keep the whole Joy Boy parallel more symbolic and subtle.

I personally adored this episode. All the different art styles coming into play. It even felt like a nod at old American cartoons with the whole rubberhose feel. He genuinely comes at Kaido like Popeye after a can of spinach and it's wonderful.

The only issue I had was that it felt like it dragged on a bit, but that also means the next episode or couple of episodes will be primarily the actual fight, which is still insanely hype

One Piece only messed up with overlapping multiple stories in while Gear 5 is going on. I know the Kozuki & Orochi beef is a main part of the story but G5 should have got complete recognition the entire episode. I actually like the debut of Gear 5 in anime than the manga though. Animators really brought his Looney Tune awakening to life.

I'll never understand why some people hates toon Force so much.

Even when is so well introduced like one piece I'm still seeing hate for it. it reminds me of the "Saitama kicking a portal" drama.
