They are trying to encourage you to buy it if you own software other than Ableton. The Ableton specific branding and labels would put off FL studio, etc, users.

Tactile feedback and there has to be a way to change what's on the screen so you can use both the screen and the launchpad for separate areas of a set or whatever.

FL Studio is crap, But novation launchpad is the greatest control imo... wb cool if launchpadAPP could control Ableton Live, in that case LaunchpadAPP would be finally useful!!

Hi,

While only Windows 7 and 8 are officially supported by Novation, I see no reason why the Launchpad Mini wouldn't work with XP.

Oh I get you now. Maybe because it's intended to be used with an iPad and the buttons are already labeled in the app? At least that's what I assume, What do you think?

ok for anyone else wondering, the incontrol mode doesnt work on windows xp (or at least i havent figured out a way to make it work). it does work like a generic controller but thats about it... i tried it now on my dads computer which has windows 7 and it works perfectly... i guess im gonna have to reinstall my windows then :D

Both units function in the same way, so it really just depends on which size works for you.
