L.L. said he was trying to make it big to escape the crime and violence in his community. Most rappers today want to take the hood to Beverly hills and Malibu they don't want to escape the hood they carrying it around with them. Kudos to L.L. Cool J.

He definitely didn't have it easy but he also didn't let it define him. He rose above it and became better.

That was discipline to make you tough and strong. Look what we have today with the youth...tough kids need tough love to prepare you to past the test of life..these males today are weak. I grew up the same way..I was 10 sitting on the patio in the cold and snow because I raised my voice at my mother..my dad wasn't having it....

My brother in law, also named Carl, in St .Albans, Queens! According to my wife, my brother in law used to bully LL Cool J, according to her, my brother in law bullied Lofton, often! She also remembers when L's grandparents bought him his first dj equipment! Yeah, L defiantly was trying to get out of the community!

I grew up on Farmers Blvd, the neighbor LL CooL J, talks about maybe his experience and how he remembers it. The neighbor l grew up in was filled with love, hard working people, respectful. Yes, we had our problems it was not perfect. It was not "You Know" like LL CooL J, says it was .

Most people will not understand his circumstances. I'm glad for him that he made it out.

You can tell talking about the past brought back painful memories . Some Scares are hard to Heal, And takes a long time to Heal Completely . Parents Protect your Children . Everyone doesn't know how to Discipline, Correctly !!!
