Why the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 Is Now My Everyday Carry

Here at Chrome Unboxed, we spend a ton of time unboxing and reviewing Chromebooks. It’s in our name, after all, and impressions on all the latest hardware in the Chromebook ecosystem will always be central to our purpose as a tech blog, YouTube channel, and Podcast. Though I spend a great deal of time bouncing from one Chromebook to the next, there are still decent stretches of time where I’m not in review mode and I go back to my home device. My safe place. My go-to Chromebook.

For a few years now, that Chromebook has always had a Google logo on the back as I’ve basically been between the Pixelbook and Pixelbook Go. Though other devices have come and gone with better internal specs, better connectivity, better screens, and better fringe benefits, there’s just been something about Google’s own devices that has always brought me back again and again. For the past month or so, however, that is changing as I’ve purchased and now carry the fantastic Acer Chromebook Spin 713 in my bag as my main device. I'd like to share why.

Based on your review, and from other Tech Volggers, I became sold on this model and picked it up yesterday, on sale at Best Buy Canada for $599.00. I am really loving the screen size, portability, ease of use, and now fully switched over from Apple to Google ecosystem. I love the value you get with Android and Google vs Apple. I also was seriously considering the Pixel GO book but the Acer Spin 713 was rated number 1 Chromebook for 2020 so in the end choose the Acer. Very happy so far with my choice. Update: The only thing I am disappointed with is the webcam. Tried using it in the evening with adequate lighting and my video quality was not great. Grainy and dark, according to the person on the other end.

LOVE THIS CHANNEL! I went totally Chromebook like 6 years ago and NEVER LOOKED BACK! I use the Asus C434 thanks to this channel's recommendation on an older video and LOVE IT!!! Keep up the great videos.

Excellent channel & great programs on the Acer Spin 713. I've watched & read reviews on the new 2020-21 Chromebooks for several months now & all roads lead to the Acer Spin 713. The Samsung 4K laptop is tempting at $799 but the battery life is a killer. Item by item plus overall integration my new Chromebook is going to be the Spin 713. Thanks, PK

I love this chromebook. i settled for HP x360 c14 which was also a good one, but it will take until sept 10 to get delivered from bestbuy. And I couldn't wait for it as it will be used for my kids homeschooling. 2 days after I ordered the HP, this Acer 713 became available at BB, with higher specs, I had to cancel my order and got this one and I received it right away. Very good deal, very sturdy with the materials used. Plus, the bezels are not that wide.

This morning, Monday November 16, 2020 Best Buy posted a $549 sale price on the Acer Spin 714 8GB Ram, 128SSD configuration. I picked mine up this morning thanks to great feedback on this channel.

I fully agree with the video. My Acer Spin 713 is my daily laptop for work and personal use. I chose the upgraded 16GB RAM version. It's great. I paid twice as much for a Microsoft Surface that I use a lot less because it's battery life is so poor vs the Acer. Chrome Unboxed provides all the reasons why I choose this as my daily driver.

Agreed! Left a Pixebook i7 for the Acer Spin 713. I even replaced the 128GB SSD with a 500GB drive to match the storage I had in the Pixelbook.

Just ordered one of these amazon recertified. I basically have desktop setup in a bag waiting for it from the chrome duet mobile rig I was messing around with.

I do a lot of lesson prep using chrome extensions, some videos using web based video editing sites. Since returning to the classroom from virtual learning, I've also wanted to finally shut down my "home classroom" and reclaim that space for our kitchen table area🤣🤣

Really looking forward to the screen size! When I'm doing a lot of copy/pasting images from online curriculum to google docs, I find myself wishing I hade just a bit more space to work with.

My first Chromebook was the Acer Spin CP315-1H-P1K8, which isn't as high end as the newer Spin 713, but it has a 15.6" screen, speakers on the keyboard, Pentium processor, 4/64 for RAM/storage, backlit keyboard, etc. Loved it! Unfortunately, it was all plastic and and ended up with a slight crack across the screen, so I moved on to the Lenovo Flex 5 13", which is no doubt a much better Chromebook, but I do miss that beautiful, huge 15.6" display.

I fully agree Acer Chromebook spin 713 is one of the best Chromebooks out there. I just got my Acer Chromebook spin 713 for about 3 weeks now and it's truly amazing. It's totally worth the money! :)
