iPhone 12 K HDR Video test. Completed recorded and edited on my iPhone 12 black.

Hi Everyone, thanks for watching this iPhone 12 4K HDR Video test where I have recorded the footage in the new iPhone Dolby Vision HDR format. As not many video editing programs can handle this new dolby vision format yet, i have used the built in iPhone 12 Video Editing App (iMovie) to be able to edit and export the iPhone 12 4k HDR video. YouTube now supports HDR from the new iPhone 12 so you should be able to view this video as intended.

As it's such a strange format at the moment, you will need to watch this video using a screen that is capable of viewing HDR content. If your screen can't view HDR content, then this HDR footage is going to look terrible and completely blown out. So I have also produced a non HDR version at the link below so you can see what footage looks like when it's been exported as non HDR from iMovie, even though everything was captured in dolby vision. Hopefully this all makes sense, but I will be making a video about it soon.

This iPhone 4k HDR video test was recorded on the "regular" iPhone 12 black in 24fps. I haven't been able to get out of the house lately so this is just a random selection of shots around the house and in the garden. Hopefully you can see the difference that the dolby vision is making, especially when i'm outside.

Overall I like the footage coming out the iPhone in 4k with dolby vision, but the editing process is a bit awkward. plus not everyone is able to view the content correctly!

Thanks for watching,
David
