My Brother came out when he was in his late 20's, after being married, then divorced for 3 years. He struggled so badly all of his life, but once he told me older knew I would still love him & support him no matter what. I held my Brother as he died from HIV-AIDS, on my 40th B-Day, 9/24/1986, at 0515 hours. miss him terribly, every single day. 77 y/o

There was some negative reaction to this segment of the interview. I don’t think Rachel was taking on a superiority tone at all. I think she was shedding even more light on how difficult it is for some to be true to themselves in public. I’m sorry he held back for so long, but happy he was finally able to do so.
