Speech Practice (Hatsune Miku V4X & V2 comparison)

This is a brief comparison between Hatsune Miku's original Vocaloid2 voicebank and her V4X Original voicebank. These are the only two voicebanks I can really compare right now, since I don't have her V2 Appends, nor V3 for that matter.

They definitely sound pretty close to eachother, but not exactly 100%. With the additional use of triphones and fixed vowel transitions that V4X has, you can definitely tell it's a lot smoother by comparison. And while the overall improvements are nice n' all, I will always love her V2 voicebank more.

IDK, I guess that kinda rough, slightly robotic sound of her's just stuck with me a lot throughout my time spent listening to Vocaloid.
Besides, none of these popular songs would even exist had Miku (or Rin, Len, and Luka for that matter!) never been released on V2.

Idk... Something about V2 really packs a punch and feels like home to me. V4 sounds really realistic and sometimes it's better to have robotic sounds.

Kinda wish they’d port miku v2 into some kind of native voicebank, her tone in v4x is slightly off and i feel miku v2 has the iconic miku voice just a tad more

They sound the same, V4 just sounds like it's higher quality recordings. Which given it must have been years apart is remarkable.

It seems like V2 miku had trouble with making clear consonants when it was just one isolated syllable. Also very breathy.

yeah v4x is much more clear, while V2 is more cute and robotic, and somewhat the pronunciations are different slightly

I know Miku isn’t a real person but why does it feel like her confidence grew from V2 to V4, so proud of her 💖

you know, people say miku has a super high voice, but i don't think it sounds that high. i guess maybe because i've heard it constantly for so many years, but she's nothing compared to una or rana.

I love V2 sooo much!! Listening to those old Miku songs that are like about a decade old makes me feel so nostalgic, even tho I just joined the fandom over three years ago xD

For those wondering, they're singing the Japanese alphabet.
The alphabet is sectioned off in rows of different types of sounds.
The first row is the "vowels", with a, e, u, e', o.
And then rows of "consonants". Hard consonants, like those with hard C and K, sounds have a row, then consonants with the Sh sound, and so on.

V4 is an improvement nonetheless.
