Very inspiring song by Gentleman Jim. he kept his word, I guess, when he flew away from us on that fateful day July 31, 1964. On the bright side, this day marked the beginning of my family's love and appreciation of Jim Reeves and his 160+ songs through our growing days in the then Ceylon. I am sure a number of folks in my cohort would attest to it. Exactly 60 years later, they still play Jim Reeves on Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation airwaves. Mom must be accompanying him now, on the piano. Solid Gold. The voice from beyond.
