I'm not lying or exaggerating when I say this is my new favorite fruit. The problem is I've never seen it for sale and so you have to grow your own.

This is one of the best videos yet. The look of anticipation on your face when Emily tries the fruit is priceless. Thank you for my smile of the day.

Dying monstera was given to me from a flower shop in BH. I threw it in my backyard under a palm tree when I lived in LA. It never fruit but kept splitting. So I brought 2 small ones to LV when I moved. I’m going to take good care of them till they fruit. They are doing well in my bathroom!! So exciting.

I live in tropical Queensland Australia and have grown up with these fruits, we also call them fruit salad plants because they taste a bit like fruit salad … but we have two different varieties of this plant, one that produces fruit, and the other one does not produce any fruit at all and is just an ornamental plant, our plant produces fruit all year round and is not seasonal… you can just cut off some of the stem to grow another plant, you don’t need any roots you can grow it from cutting, we cut the top off the main plant stem and trim off some of the leaves and cut it into 12 - 14 inch lengths and stick the cuttings into the ground and each piece will grow. I am happy you are enjoying the fruit.

Wow, I had no idea the fruit from the monstera is edible, let alone so delicious. Monstera grows wild here and I have seen the fruit, but always just thought it is a seed pod. I am so excited to scour the neighborhood in search of some delicious fruit! Thanks Brian...you are always a source of great information!

"I only have one" reminds me of finding wild raspberries on a hike to Russian Beach in northern California. There were only six. They were the best things I have ever tasted, and I wanted to cry. 😁

Wow! I had to read the title two or three times because I never knew that this plant which I have only seen as a houseplant actually grew fruit. Thank you so much for sharing!

I’d love to try it. So far, cherimoya, rambutan, mangosteen, lychee, longan and mango are my faves

I'm from Hawaii. That plant is all over the island. How did I not know of this?😶 I seen the fruit but never thought of it as a fruit, just seeds. 😐Wow, I learn something new. Mahalo.😉

Only peel the scales off that do EASILY peel off. If you peel off the others to soon the fruit will feel like it is “cutting “ the inside of your mouth. My parents had a monsterio (as we called it) and it is definitely my favourite fruit too. Brisbane Australia.

That's a really long wait. So glad it tastes good. I need to get this plant now, and see if it'll like the deep south. Thanks for the video!

Thanks, I grow these in several locations in my garden BUT all 4 are either under large liquid ambers or large bamboo, so not sure your right re water. Mine fruit readily without any additional water, however they are tropical plants so I guess extra water won't hurt. The fruit ARE delicious. After you remove the outer skin from all the ripe sections use a sharp knife or even a fork and place all flesh in a small bowl and then mash it to a pulp. Don't worry about the little black bits just mash it, add some ice cream or better still fresh cream and you have a yummy nutrition packed health food. I grow mine on the Central Coast of NSW and they are healthy as can be, just got to beat the possums to them.

I happened upon one of these fruits at a local produce store over a decade ago. I’ve never been able to find one again, though not for lack of trying. It’s the best tasting fruit I’ve ever had. It’s like pineapple, kiwi, and banana all in one.
