Metric Mechanic has been rebuilding BMW manual transmissions since the early 80s. Aside from replacing consumables such as synchronizers, bearings and springs we’ve also developed machining steps to help synchro mesh. MM transmissions are known for harder shifts. Are you guys going to upload part 2? Do you upgrade any parts in the build, and how does it compare to the Getrag 265 rebuilt in terms of shifting quality, durability?

I have one of yours (Getrag 245) !! You would want to correct the text, it's Getrag rather than Getreg.

great work guys. Can we buy the front gear removal tool from you or get any info on what you made? Id like to make one as we have 6 dead boxes here we need to rebuild. Cheers

@MetricMechanic Hello, my transmission is a factory 6-speed manual (getrag 420g), but I have a problem with the bell housing bearings. Do you have a bearing kit that you can sell me for the bell?

What’s up brotha,

I’m having issue with the gears when shifting into 4th, it jumps right back to 3rd a few consecutive time and goes into safe/limp mode. And then after, the car will drive and just stay at 3rd...

This is a 2005 Bentley Continental Gt but it has the bmw mechatronic type transmission. Let me know what you think please...any response will be appreciated!
