You kinda sounded like Forrest Gump while saying "I enjoy it" (talking about the backhoe).
But yeah I've had my experiences with topsoil that we graded out over a field that previously had fill dumped on it (topsoil so we could grow grass). Graded it out with a dozer, raked it with a Deere tractor and rake whilst throwing rocks roots and logs in the bucket. All good exercise for a semi retired now grape farming old man.
We've gotten all sorts of free stuff... asphalt millings, topsoil, woodchips, and mulch. The topsoil paid for a dozer to be on site to grade and on the side level out a mountain of millings. (free millings we will use for a drive about 2mi's long (cheaper than crush n run obviously)).

Make a topsoil screener. You can never have too much topsoil, plus it would make for good videos.
