Review of the 2023 Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Nano Gen 3 laptop. This comes packed with the latest Intel i7-1360P CPU and an Intel iris xe gpu. It's still incredibly light but worth it?

A thinkpad without a trackpoint is not a thinkpad, period.

The NIPPLE IS A MUST HAVE. I am 15 years Thinkpad user, and now on my X1 Nano I use the trackpoint much more often than trackpad. It feels very fluid, navigating the OS without changing wrist position. I use Mac Book pro 14 inch for media production, and I like trackpoint more than macbook trackpad although it is very easy to use. I'm have a blessed life.

don't mess with the trackpoint!!!

It is one of the 2 reasons why I buy these thinkpads, it makes me more productive and it is super useful

The asking price of recent ThinkPads is on par with Macbooks, except, they're barely half as good when it comes to screen quality, trackpad, build, performance, and battery life. If someone really needs a laptop that can run Windows or Linux, paying such a price just for ThinkPad brand is not worth it.

Why make it an age issue when you don't know if it is one or not? That's pure conjecture and lets your biases show through. A look into your soul.

As someone who has to use gloves while working, I wouldn't have bought my last gen thinkpad if it didn't have the nub for navigation.

One suggestion, when showing scores, please make the name of the device in discussion stand-out from the rest for easy scanning for us viewers. Maybe make it bigger of bolder or use a different color.

I use the trackpoint (nipple as you called it) buttons with my thumb on the trackpad. It's soooo much better than built in buttons or buttons below the touchpad. The trackpoint is great if you need to do something with your mouse but you don't want to move your hands away from the keyboard!

The Trackpoint is for productivity. If you want to fingerpaint, get anything else.

I use this for work, X1 Nano Gen2. 16gb ram and 512 gb. Generally fine, I prefer the lightness when commuting. I find that the fan kicks in very often even on balance settings.

Got one of these a couple years ago for work - love it so much. The small form is absolutely perfect for travel.

on the bar chart graphs maybe put a diff colour for the laptop you are testing so it's way more visible and visual to compare it. Awesome vid as usual, cheers!

Thanks for the review. The review of the 2023 X1 Nano is interesting because there seems to be little innovation in this space. Would be interesting to compare it to older models that, for non-big business users, might present a better value proposition. I'm still using my early 2020 Razer Blade Stealth 13.

PS: For fingerprints, skins are definitely the way to go. Would be interested in a review of some of the more popular skinning companies, e.g., dbrand, SlickWraps, Sopiguard, etc.

The nipple is useful when you need to use the device while carrying, or with gloves. Ultimately, Thinkpads are for professionnals, and the trackpoint is a matter of branding for non professionnal. They should not get rid of it.

the touchpad in thinkpad optimized by using both thumb while using ten finger. that's why the click is on the top

Gotta have the TrackPoint! Those who want a larger keyboard will opt for a Carbon or Yoga. It is too bad one cannot go to a store and visually compare models (beyond some models at some Best Buys, like with Apple.

3:08 I actually wish there was an option the other way. Would be nice to get rid of the trackpad, but of course keep the buttons. It takes so much space that could be used to increase the vertical range of the keyboard. Sort of like the Thinkpad X200S.

Not having a trackpoint would make it a Thinkbook instead of a ThinkPad. They could use the haptic pad from the Z13 and you can continue to have the trackpoint without issue while also allowing you to have a bigger trackpad for those who don't know how to use the trackpoint.

the nipple is the best thing and infact the only laptop which can be used at industrial locations or at remote sotes where you might need to use this outdoor with gloves on rough oily fingers with dirt and stuff.
