"The world's a friendly place."

I lived in the Gambia which is near marutiania and we called it “ataya” very strong sweet tea. Likely the only thing preventing scurvy and other illnesses in the bush.

That is cool, at least you know you aren't getting spiked or both of you are going for a hell of a ride

I was a 52 year old white single female & lived for (8) of the best months of my life, in a very low income all black African neighborhood in Zimbabwe & have never met such beautiful people in all my life. There are no words to how touched I was & the kids my littliest pals..When I had to go back to the states, I honestly sobbed for an hour in the airport until yet another very kind older black African man came & put his arm around me to console me. The white british people around me - pretended like they didn't see me. 100% truth.

I really love your videos! As an experienced female solo traveler I would say that everywhere had good people but it is certainly worth watching out for people and local/country infrastructures that are not friendly towards women.

How wonderful & friendly. Time-consuming if done too often. be gracious & thankful they live sober lives.

You’re probably an incredibly interesting guest. I imagine they don’t get foreigners often.

As a Mauritanian this is hilarious to me, our country doesn’t keep a census of anything- hence why the world thinks it’s the most dangerous place. More like outdated ideas from the 1800-1900s thats the only thing the news can make articles about. Come to Mauritania and you’ll see beautiful giant villas, amazing restaurants and night life in the capital Nouakchott. Go to Atar is where the quiet but relaxing desert life is. It’s a very modernized country, we’re just a very quiet one. What my man said, is typical behavior of everyone there. Essential multiple rounds of tea everyday and hospitality, we hold manners, hospitality and discipline very highly because of our religion as Muslims as well as our family pride, different tribes, etc.

love, your Mauritanian friend from America ☺️🇲🇷🤍

Home Louisiana is like this. They cook all day for a visiting nurse they didn't know. It's a beautiful thing.

I judged too soon, when he said “one of the biggest problems going to Mauritania” I thought he would say something really bad might happen to you, but after hearing the whole thing it makes me want to visit this place and give it a chance.. shout out to Mauritania 🇲🇷

Fun fact: country’s like maruitania and other ones for like middle east get tea pour it in a cup then pour it back in the tea pot they do this to make all the leafs of the tea be everywhere so it has a strong flavor to it, if it doesn’t have bubbles in it it won’t taste the best but it will be alr 👍👍👍

Mauritania's tea is very sweetened. You get a sugar rush afterwards.
