Nutrition is a critical part of clinical medicine, but there's a communication gap between health professionals and patients, caused in part by the fact most don't learn much about it during their training. The GW Integrative Medicine Programs are trying to change that by providing students in its Masters of Science in the Health Sciences program with a pathway to the CNS® credential.

Recently the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences—in collaboration with the American Nutrition Association (ANA) and the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists℠ (BCNS℠)—hosted an information session on how to earn a Certified Nutrition Specialist® credential. During the overview, ANA and BCNS staff went over the steps and requirements needed to take the exam to achieve a CNS® credential.
