Is "whomever" the formal version of "whoever"? Is it a made-up word to confuse students? The fine people of Dunder Mifflin have their thoughts.

Kelly: Ryan used me as an object
Office members: so anyway,

"not a native speaker" is a special hidden gem in this scene but obviously the crowning jewel is "well how did Ryan use it as an object?" "as an object" "Ryan used _me_ as an object"

I like how Michael allowed Toby to explain and even thanked him for it, but as soon as he was proving Michael wrong by proving Ryan had the correct usage he instantly shuts down Toby.

I love the occasions where Stanley becomes mildly interested in what's going on.

Ryans face after Kelly says that gets me every time

I just love that, after all of this debate, Michael uses “whom” incorrectly when insulting Toby

I actually laughed out loud at Kelly in this scene. I love The Office haha

This is amazing chemistry between a large group. Perfect comedic timing

Pam is correct on this one. However, I love how this shows that it really doesn't matter in the majority of situations because most people simply don't know the rule and accept "whoever" or "whomever" without flinching. Common usage > Grammatically correct usage in most situations.

The funniest thing is that Paul Lieberstein and Steve Carell are good friends in real life.

The dialogue in this whole scene is AMAZING.

I love that michael agreed with toby until he realised toby was saying he was wrong

I love how each character's response is a reflection of their character

Not a fan of the edits, especially the sound cues. But I appreciate that you tried something different. Please just upload the clips though they speak for themselves.

The easy way to remember is you would use "who" where you would use "he", and "whom" where you would use "him". "I need you to be able to communicate this to him", "I need you to be able to communicate this to whomever". Little more helpful than what Pam said I think, haha

First time I watched this, no subtitles yet, they got me concentrating hard because of the fast talk. Then Kelly goes off with that brilliant one-liner, I freaking lost it!

Toby almost broke character when Kelly said “Ryan used me as an object”.😂😂😂

I think it's the best scene of the show. It really got it all. Michael's joke/innuendo (not a native speaker), Ryan's bad attitude, Creed vs everyone, Andy playing it smart, Oscar, Pam, Jim Kevin and Phyllis being themselves, Kelly crying over Ryan, Stanley hardly even caring about it all, Michael fighting Toby... Only Dwight and Angela are missing
