"A psychedelic hard rock masterpiece. I can't remember how I heard about LYD. There was nothing on the internet. LEGEND has it that they were a group of musicians (not a band) who would only enter the studio when they were under the influence of whatever. Nothing was officially released from the session but somehow the original tapes were pirated and from them the original bootleg was produced. Since then many boots followed. I got my boot several years ago as a 12 inch single sided disc. It came with a black and white cover with an illustration in the centre of a guy smoking pot. The back was just plain white. The label just says Sunset Recording Studios Inc 5539 Sunset Boulevard Hollywood California,The Lyd Side 1. The astonishing thing is that the cover was impregnated with something that produced a very strong odour. It could be smelt through out my house. It took many months for that smell to recede. I am indebted to Thebestdream I had for publishing the titles of the songs but in particular the names of the musicians. Can any one shed any light on each artists? It now appears the the release has been legitimized."

Obviously these guys were very talented, creative and a cool rockin band..and
this was 1970, the beginning of an incredible explosion of extremely talented
young musicians, songwriters, singers and their music in the amazing decade
that was the 70s...these guys could really play well and jam with the best of
them, but like so many other very good bands at the time they didnt get very
much attention for whatever reasons or they broke up too soon...thanks for
posting this one too...its like taking a very cool trip back to a great time

Thanks to Itunes I ran across these guys, I was very impressed they have a Uriah Heep/ Foghat appeal.

I must say, many times whilst listening to an album, I listen all the way thru. With a big smile on my face saying, GAWD....

When the vocals came in on the first song, I immediately thought of Stonehenge by Spinal Tap.This is not meant to be an insult at all- it was a different time and i understand that. But just the way the music and vocals work together really made me think of it.
