Couldn't I use isopropyl alcohol to dilute the ink? Might dry faster as well was thinking, as I see a lot of alcohol ink brands.

I'm using a drill with bolt 🔩 holding a 5in wire wheel 😂 I need to make a restorer 🤔

Hibiscus 🌺 ground up makes a Awesome Purple, keep out of Sun 🌞. After using Lichtenburg Fractal it will turn a blue color.

Ah come on now BDB let’s see you engrave some of those gorgeous hunks of tree! Even perhaps do a deep engrave and then work in some powder coating.

That is awesome. I might do this with some projects. Shou su gi bond is fun to make and experiment with. I have made a few signs with this technique.

Thanks for the advice, let me look at that and compare with this Osmo UV protection clear satin/-matt for exterior use

I liked the Turquoise (aka mint green) and the lt. green as well. I thought of doing shosugi but I just don't have enough power tools for it (or the room to store them!)

Could you do a multi burn and restore piece to really accentuate and deepen the grain texture, then stain to make it look like it is still on fire.... maybe even using glow and/ or fluorescent dye?
FYI, you have sent me down the rabbit hole with this shou sugi ban stuff and now I'm in the process of creating a piece of my own.
Thanks man. And cheers. 🍻

How would you rate them against just food color dyes per cost....and I have found tie-dye powder pigments work really well.

Commenting on this video from a year ago may not get seen by BDB. I hope it does or at least someone may be able to help. Your videos are great, not only entertaining but hugely informative. I love the deep burn and vibrantly dyed/stained woods, beautiful (not you, just kidding). Anyway, my name is Harry from the UK, this is the first time I have commented/questioned on any video, its also the first time I have tried this Shou Sugi Ban. I am hell bent on doing a large piece (3x2.5mtrs) at the back of my bar using pine floor boards. This will be external. So far I have practiced burning and dying with different products, results ok so far. My question is what type/Make of Oil should I use for burnt, dyed pine in external use, something that does not spoil the colours? Any advice would be useful, thanks.

Love the green and yea pink is nice actually quite liked the mint green (blue) can I ask though I've binged all your videos recently and watched all the different things you've used to colour with. In your expert opinion what would u say is the best out the lot them?? And do u dilute them all apart from the white one 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
