ATM money is coming before their player base. They need to get the game into a stable state, cause right now you can barely play it, and when you can get on, you get 10 to 20 mins of playtime, and then come the constant crashes. If they don't soon fix it, they will lose the majority of their players

$15 for a skin pack is rough after selling a 1/2 finished map plagued with problems at the same price. They should do a 50% off sale until the show starts, then put it back to regular price. Give a break to all the people who've been suffering through all the latest problems. No More $5 OP dino DLC. If you're going to put it in the game, do it for everyone or nobody.

The Company is so funny, player base is soooo MAD atm and they are like "Yes thats a fantastic idea to sell sh** for 15€, it's deffo as much work as an entire New Map with New features!"

However I think you are criticizing the wrong thing.

I dont mind paid cosmetics AT ALL! That's the best if not the only fair use of microtransactions in games.
- I DO mind pay2win DLCs, as it's buying a gameplay advantage and creates a division of the player base with these paywalls.
- I DO mind that they can't hold up to their schedule and that they keep releasing unfinished paid content!

I did buy Bob's Tall Tales as it is (beside the community creatures) the only new content you get in ASA compared to ASE, but I will boycott every fantastic creature and premium mod dividing the comunity furthermore. Only with our wallets and critique we can direct the game studios to focus on the essentials (stability & gameplay) and not farm their community as obedient cash cows. 🚫💰🐄

Criticize the instability, the lack of optimisation and bug fixing, the pay2win content, that the game menu still has no favorite tab but the option to mark servers as favorite, or that you have to join 3 times after a disconnect and their auto reconnect feature doesn't work at all, all the GAMEBREAKING problems and PAY2WIN inbalances. I got 99 problems with ASA, but paid cosmetics is none of it.

Anyway, I really appreciate the move towards more serious critique and less sugar coating! 💙

I find this funny because they r supposed to be working on the update for UE 5. This thing will blow up in their faces if they dont have this update ready, WORKING and ON TIME.

I was told they don't make money off of fixing games, But in Ark's case how many times can a game crash before people just get fed up with it and leave.

Aesteros is the only map that DOESNT crash every 5-10 minutes. Extinction is the worst for me followed by island.

ok so im gonna give you some backlash too, ive been a dev for 15 or so odd years, there is no way in hell this was a DDOS attack, the scope of the attack downing 2 data centers, and somehow everyone believes that this is some kids on their gaming computers that down hundreds of GB bandwith data centers ... come on now, they lied, and dollie should resign, in 2023 we where promised better communication. nothing changed, they only thing that changed is that the snail games overlords will now milk out every penny untill the community is dry.

keep speaking the truth, 15 years of development experience, if this was a DDOS it wouldve been one of the biggest DDOS attacks in the history of games.

People complain about pay to Win and paying for game play. It’s not going to stop. They’re funding not just ASA but all of Snails other projects. I’d be willing to bet most of the money doesn’t even go back into the game. It’s funding projects like For the Stars.

Lowkey I can take this deal. Listen most games sell skins for $15 a single skin for $15 but in Ark for $15 I get most of my Dinos in a different skins, that’s a W, instead of individual skins

It feels like nothing WC does can make the community happy.. No matter what they do, it solicits a wave of outrage it seems. If they stopped all progress and began to purely work on fixes, do you think people would be quiet and satisfied? I dunno, everything feels so toxic now that it's hard for me to imagine that kind of reaction from the community ever being possible.

Ascended was playing fine again today, but then without any indication that my pc may have been struggling, the game went black screen and restarted my pc. I have more than enough to run Ark and have been playing since launch with no performance problems. Usually 120 fps. Idk if I should try to run it again.
