Oh my gosh, your voice and your accent just make watching this so much more enjoyable!

Now that is how you do a dissolving effect without spending hours on geometry nodes. Thanks!

I use this vector gradient trick a lot for procedural dirt: if you plug it into the factor of a mix rbg node with a noise texture as one of the colors, it makes something that looks dirtier on the bottom half (which is how most things look in my experience).

if you're working on a Motion Graphics project in blender this would be helpful to create the fade effect especially for text boxes that need to sell the illusion of depth .

Thanks for doing an updated tutorial on this, methods are always changing and need updated information here and there.

Ah cool, this is what I was looking for. Would be fantastic if someone just makes a list of "fade" types. Like 5 ways to fade/reveal/animate something into existence. Is there such a video somewhere? Great tips to know when doing motion graphics renders.

That was exactly what I needed for my project <3

I think the user's question, was if the mask modifier works when the object's material contains a texture. Meaning will the texture maintain its properly established size and proportion without being distorted or squashed by the Mask Modifier. (I would assume it would work, but I'm not certain.)

So there's 2 questions that come to mind when seeing this.

1. Which would be more useful when masking out parts of a character? (example use I think of is a character is wearing a shirt so their torso is masked out but then they lift it up and need that part of the mesh to be revealed)
2. for the material one could you set up multiple empties or objects to control the gradient in 1 material on the same mesh?

I was hoping you could do this texture gradient but with the mask modifier, as it actually hides the geometry.

Hi, my materials are supposed to be invisible with my color ramp, but I can see parts of them. How can I do ?

Great Tut but when I was watching I was wondering is there a way to delete the transparent vertices and faces using the mask modifier ?? so the visible becomes its own standalone mesh.

I have a rigged animated character that has several materials across it's model. How do i make ONE slider to make the character fade out in a gradient??
