British Army Soldiers Fire Machine Gun & Grenades From Jackal 2 Armoured Vehicle

U.K. soldiers assigned to Battle Group Poland participate in the machine gun range using their Jackal 2 armoured vehicles equipped with a 40 mm grenade machine gun and a 7.62 mm machine gun during EXERCISE Saber Strike 2017, at Bemowo Piskie Training Area near Orzysz, Poland.

The Jackal or MWMIK or Mobility Weapon-Mounted Installation Kit is a family of vehicles designed and developed by Supacat Ltd at their factory in Honiton, Devon (UK) for use by the British Army and Royal Air Force Regiment.

Stupid commenters. Using a tank in a recon role would be like using a land rover in a grand prix. Landrovers are designed for offroading, not to go at excessive speeds. Likewise tanks are designed to go head to head with heavy armour, not for recon or being able to quickly fall back. Enter the jackal...

The comments on here are beyond inane. Yes, it has no top, yes, it's lightly armoured. That's because IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE. It's a recon vehicle, light and fast is what it's designed to be. What, you think that jeep with a roof is going to somehow give you better protection that this thing? Most modern bullets rip through stuff like that with ease, hence why it's been removed here. Any armour you slap on that could stand up to small calibre bullets would half the speed the vehicle could go at.

Heap of shit, no top cover won't even keep the rain off let alone a grenade or a molotov cocktail. Top heavy, slow, class 2 licence, unstable, can't fire on the move. I'd rather have a ferret scout car.

Its unbelievable that soldiers still drive around in ambush unprotected vehicles. There would certainly be bullets and shrapnel flying in your direction killing u before u can even man that grenade launcher.
